We know how tough it can feel to stay optimistic when your child isn’t selected through Lehigh Valley Academy’s lottery process. But if you’re truly hoping for a chance to enroll at LVA, it’s very important to remain on our waiting list and reapply each school year — because spots do become available.
Each grade level is capped at a certain number. If a current student leaves the school during the year, the next eligible student on the waiting list for that grade is contacted to fill the opening. This happens more often than you might think — which is why your placement on the waiting list matters.
However, please note:
- Being on the waiting list for the current school year does not automatically transfer to the next.
- You must renew or submit a new application each year to be included in the admissions lottery and to retain your place on the waiting list.
- If you missed the application deadline for this year (March 3, 2025), you can still submit a new application to be placed on the waiting list for the following fall.
You can fill out your child’s application easily through our Admissions Application Portal, which can be accessed on our website at www.lvacademy.org. Understanding Our Admissions Process
LVA is a public, non-profit charter school, and our enrollment process follows guidelines set by our charter and Pennsylvania Charter School Law.
If applications exceed the number of available seats, a lottery is held. Participation in the lottery requires all required forms to be completed by the application deadline.
Students are enrolled or placed on the waiting list in this order:
- Siblings of students who are currently enrolled at LVA and who live at the same address as the LVA sibling in Bethlehem Area or Saucon Valley School Districts receive first preference. If there are more siblings than openings at a grade level, a sibling lottery takes place.
- Siblings of students currently enrolled who resided in other districts receive second preference.
- Students from Bethlehem Area School District and Saucon Valley School District (LVA’s Chartering Districts).
- Students from other school districts.
As classroom openings occur during the school year, families on the waiting list are contacted.
Lehigh Valley Academy Regional Charter School reserves the right to verify residency during the enrollment process per state guidelines.
